Day 2 Kiruna
Day 3 Kiruna-Abisko
Morning free time, we depart from the hostel to the world famous Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi, a small village just outside Kiruna. You can visit all the ice rooms and then hang out in the ice-bar and why not - have a drink from a glass made of ice - a memory of a lifetime.* After that we visit a Sami family, the indigenous people of Northern Scandinavia. You will learn about the Sami way of life today and in the past, as well as get to see and feed the reindeer. Later we arrive in the Abisko National Park where we will stay for two nights. In the evening we will gather in the Sami tent around a cosy fire. Abisko is known to be a good place for seeing Northern Lights so keep your eyes open.
Day 4 Abisko
Today you can choose between going by bus across the border to Norway and visit the town of Narvik or stay in Abisko. In Abisko you can explore the area & go on a hike. We can only go to Narvik if the weather and road conditions are good. Narvik is located on the coast of the Atlantic, on the way there you will see a stunning scenery with snow covered peaks and fjords. Later in the afternoon, we go to a traditional wood-heated sauna and you can also go for an arctic dip in the frozen lake in Abisko!
Day 5 Abisko
This day is a free day for activities in the Abisko area, you can choose between optional activities arranged by the tourist station or rent equipment for skiing etc. (Read more under Optional activities). In the afternoon we leave Abisko to start driving back south again, and on the way stop at the Arctic Circle before getting ready to sleep.
Day 6 Back at the departure point
We are back where we started and the tour is over, but you will have some amazing memories and new friends.
