Program

Day 1 Home to Munich
We leave 23:00 and travel south during night.

Day 2 Munich
At arrival we have breakfast at the Hostel where we also leave our bags (check in during afternoon). We follow our guide who will show us the city and its surroundings on a walking tour. Later you can explore the city independently and maybe a beer and food in a biergarten! In the evening, we meet and explore the city and make some visits to bars.

Day 3 Munich to Berchtesgaden
In the morning we leave the Bavarian capital behind and travel south towards the alps. We make a small hike to get some nice views of the world-famous Fairy tale castle Neuschwanstein. During the day we make a few more stops on our way East along the edge of the alps. If the weather is good we make a stop and you might get a view of Zugspitze, the highest peak in Germany (2962 meters). In the late afternoon, we reach Berchtesgaden the very South East corner of Germany, surrounding by mighty mountains. After dinner in the hostel, we relax and those who want to can join us for a walk down to a bar later.

Day 4 Berchtesgaden and Salzburg
After breakfast the bus will go around the area. We start with stunning the Rossfeld road along the mountains so you get some really spectacular views. We drive town to Königsee the highest located lake in Germany where you can make a boat trip on the lake or just make a small hike to some nice viewpoints.
In the afternoon, you can choose between staying in Salzburg or join a few hours’ excursion to nearby Salzburg. If you stay in Berchtesgaden you have possibilities to hike around the Königsee area, visit The Eagles Nest or the Salt Mine. Note that you would have to walk and use public transport to get around. (More information about Berchtesgaden is sent out before departure.)
In Salzburg you can join the tour manager on a walk around the beautiful old town. When free time you can walk up to the castle or if you are a fan of music, walk in the footsteps of Mozart or find the places where they shot the famous Sound of music movie. In the late afternoon, the bus will take for a short ride back to Germany and stunning Berchtesgaden.

Day 5 Berchtesgaden-Home
We leave after breakfast and travel North.  We make a stop in one of the historical cities on the way before arriving home.
