Optional activities on Lapland Express
Lapland offers loads of amazing activities. Some of them need to be booked in advance and three of them you can book with us and we forward your booking to the activity company. The Combi Tour has guaranteed departure whilst the other two need a minimum number of persons. Possible cancelation of any of the two activities will be announced on day 1 of the tour.
PLEASE NOTICE THAT THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES ARE DONE BY SEPARATE COMPANIES AND NOT SCANBALT. SOME ACTIVITIES LISTED BELOW NEED TO BE PREBOOKED, SCANBALT CAN DO THAT FOR YOU. ANY DISAGREEMENT IS A MATTER BETWEEN THE PASSENGER AND THE ACTIVITY COMPANY. SCANBALT IS OF COURSE INTERESTED TO GET YOUR OPINION ABOUT THE ACTIVITIES/COMPANIES BUT SERIOUS COMPLAINTS MUST BE TAKEN UP WITH THE ACTIVITY COMPANY AND ITS GOOD IF YOU CAN DO THAT DURING THE TOUR.
Combi Tour
Organizer: Kiruna Sleddog
When: Day 2, about 9 AM, 1 PM, 5 PM Price: 800 SEK
Where: You will be picked up at the hostel and go to an area outside the town.
Booking: You can book this activity via Scanbalt online.
We will sign up in the bus, who will go what time. Departure times can change depending on when we arrive in Kiruna and the number of participants. Those who booked the Kiruna Mine Tour in advance will be placed on the early Combi tour departure. Note that we can not guarantee that big groups of friends can be in the same group. The final information is given on the bus regarding who goes when. Before starting you will sign a paper for insurance. Signing that document means that you accept the conditions for using the snow mobile and taking part of the activity. For example if you damage a snow mobile you need to pay the "self risc" which could be about 300 Euros.
Description
This is the king of all Lapland adventures. The tour is about 3,5 hours and half time is with dog sledge and the other time is with snowmobile. Warm clothes is included and also a snack and awarm drink.
Ice Climbing
Organizer: The Swedish Tourist Organisation (STF)
When: Day 5, 10 AM-1 PM
Price: 550 SEK
Where: Meet at the reception in Abisko. The activity takes place next to the hostel.
Payment: Cash or credit card in Abisko
Number of places: Minimum 6 and maximum 8.
This 3 hours activity takes place a short walk from our hostel in Abisko national Park at about 10 AM on day 5. Ice climbing is considered to be one of the most exciting forms of climbing. On this half-day course you'll learn the basic techniques. By means of crampons, rope and ice axes we’ll climb the steep icefalls in the canyon. Climbing activity takes place only when there is enough natural frozen ice.
Snowshoeing – Wild Winter Hike

When: Day 5, 10 AM-1 PM
Price: 650 SEK
Where: Meet at the reception in Abisko. The activity takes place next to the hostel.
Payment: Cash or credit card in Abisko
Number of places: Minimum 6 and maximum 20.
Description
Come and join an 3 hours exciting guided snowshoe hike in the wild Abisko National Park. We travel gently through untouched snow and visit some of the park's beautiful places. . Remember that you need to have your own winter clothes and winter shoes to put the snow shoe on. Included in the price: Guide, snowshoes, poles.
