Program
Day 1. Tallinn
At 11 AM we meet in Tallinn the capital of Estonia and go for a guided walk in the historical Old Town. Here you can get to know the Unesco protected medieval old town surrounded by an almost intact beautiful wall. A walk up to the Toompea hill for a stunning view is a must. At 13.00 we meet in the harbour and leave to Helsinki and from Helsinki to St.Petersburg by an overnight ferry. Note, that if you want to explore more of Tallinn, we recommend to arrive the day before!
Day 2. St Petersburg
10:00 Arrival in St Petersburg, the former capital of imperial Russia. We get on our bus, meet our local tour guide and start discovering the city. After lunch we visit the most famous cathedrals, museums and memorials reminding about the long siege during World War 2. (transport included not possible entrance fees). At 5 PM we check in at our central located hostel. Later its free time for discovering the city on your own and why not to go to theatre or club.
Day 3. St Petersburg
This is a free day where you have time to explore the sights closest to the main street Nevsky Prospekt. Walk down to the world famous Winter Palace and Hermitage museum (free for students with photo student ID). Continue with the amazing Church of Spilt Blood built on the spot where Alexander II was murdered. Alternatively if you would like to have a closer look at St Isaacs Cathedral it’s only a short walk away from the Winter Palace. In the evening we would recommend you join us for a Russian evening with traditional Russian dances and songs (see optional activities) and why not join for a visit to the Russian Vodka Museum (see Optional activities)!!!
Day 4. St Petersburg
9 AM optional excursion to one of the massive imperial palaces outside the city. Which palace we visit depends on the season (see optional activities). The bus will be back at the hostel in the afternoon and at 4 PM we depart for the ferry terminal from where we catch the ferry to Helsinki.
Day 5. Helsinki
We arrive in Helsinki in the morning and get ready to explore the Finnish Capital. You can join us for a small walk around but you will also have time to explore independently if you wish. If there’s good weather we would recommend a visit to the nearby fortress island Sveaborg, where Swedes and Russians once fought. At 4 PM we meet at Vikingline Terminal and get on the boat for Stockholm. Enjoy disco, dance shows and bars on the ship!
Day 6. Stockholm
Arrival at Viking line Terminal about 10 AM. Guided city tour of Stockholm. After the city tour free time to discover Stockholm on your own. Check in to the centrally located hostel in the afternoon.
Day 7. Check out from the hostel in the morning.
